As the pandemic safety protocols evolve, we are looking at ways to improve on the original design of our hand-sewn soft cotton face masks. In November, we responded to updated Canada COVID-19 non-medical mask guidelines by offering our masks in three layers or two layers. We’ve adapted to offer masks in new sizes (kids, beard and large faces). And as always all of our masks include adjustable elastic straps for a snug and comfortable fit.
In light of the increasing pervasiveness of coronavirus variants of concern, our customers can now choose to add Nose Wires for superior fit. We want to ensure that our reusable, washable masks offer as much protection and comfort as possible.
A small, flexible aluminum strip is sewn inside the layers of masks. The strip is lightweight, durable, non-rusting and bends easily to the exact shape desired for a close fit around the nose. There are no sharp edges and the re-moldable nose wire lets the mask gently hug the skin and does not restrict breathing. And nose wires help to limit air from leaking out of the upper part of masks, reducing fog on your glasses.
Care for these masks exactly as you would for any cotton garment:
- Wash between uses
- Hand or machine wash
- Hang or tumble dry low (as high heat may damage the soft elastics)
As new information becomes available, you can count on us to continue to evolve our masks with your safety in mind.
As two formidable Toronto women, we started our small business by hand-sewing all the masks that we sell. We cut four pieces of cotton for every mask and sew them all together to make a smartly tailored, handmade cotton face mask. We take comfort and fit very seriously. You can adjust your mask to your unique face and head size to achieve a comfortable fit, with no gaps. We are careful to select all-natural, tightly woven quilters' cottons in all our masks, and we wash and tumble dry before hand-sewing each mask. We have over 100 styles to choose from, and adding more each week. We are proud to operate an ethical business and having a positive impact on the environment. You can feel good knowing that each mask is sewn by hand right here in Canada.
