Textile Recycling is ongoing

Posted by Sue Fisher on

Made another drop off north of the city for textile recycling today.

As we have said before, it’s very important to us to make sure that all our small fabric scraps from hand-cutting our cotton fabric masks do not end up in landfill. And you would be surprised how many thread snippets there are too.

It’s worth the short trip to eliminate textile waste - fabric scraps left at the Markham, ON depot are recycled and repurposed into industrial rags, furniture padding, pillow stuffing, home insulation and car seat stuffing.

They also take the little bits of sew-in, non-woven polyester - along with 100% cotton fabrics - very happy our fabric scraps are being repurposed through recycling.

We really like the idea of doing our part to contribute to making our planet just a little bit healthier.

Will continue to drive there in the absence of textile recycling depots here in Toronto, thank you Markham for offering these terrific facilities!
