As a small business, we do everything we can to make sure our customers receive their mask orders without delay. Each mask is sewn by us, by hand; smartly constructed and well-tailored. This means it generally takes longer, especially compared to ordering an off-the-shelf mask from a big retailer. We usually ship orders in a couple of business days.
We send two automatic e-mails with each order (or text messages, for customers who did not provide an email address):
1: An email to confirm that the order was received by us.
2: An email when we ship out the order (fulfilled).
If a customer asked for a trackable shipping method, we update the shipment with the tracking number as soon as we receive it.
Earlier in the pandemic, shipping delays by Canada Post were significant and this caused a lot of stress and confusion for everyone. Fortunately, Canada Post delays have diminished considerably since then.
If you are concerned about the status of your order, please contact us.
We ship via Canada Post. For an extra $3.00 (plus HST) we will package and ship masks anywhere in Canada. Or, upgrade to trackable Expedited Parcel, Xpresspost or Priority Post. International shipping options are available too (rates vary).
Our masks are designed to provide good fit for all sorts of face and head sizes. Standard Size masks fit older kids aged 9 or 10 up to adult, depending on the size of their heads and faces. The special adjustable elastic straps give everyone a great, form-fitting and most importantly, a comfortable fit. Because you can adjust the elastics, each mask fits everyone’s unique face and head size.
Beard size masks are about an inch taller at the bottom to wrap underneath beards, or for those with bigger jaw lines.
Yes! Our kids masks are uniquely tailored for young kids, age 3 - 8 years old, maybe up to 9 or 10, depending on face and head size. We think you will find these small masks are very well suited for children. Your child will get a personal fit for their face size. They provide form-fitting comfort and most importantly, are reasonably comfortable to wear all day.
Elastic ends are knotted to ensure elastic adjusters remain securely in place. Without a knot, the silicone toggle could slip off in the washing machine or become separated in their backpack or pocket, or little hands might fiddle and remove the elastic adjusters.
You can add a Nose Wire to your mask, whether you choose 2 Layer or 3 Layer designs. We started offering Nose Wires as an option back in February 2021, they are a real game changer. Along with the carefully tailored shape of our masks and adjustable elastics, we think you will find having a nose wire is an excellent edition. Or not, it's your choice.
No, we do not offer filter options in any of our masks. Our smartly constructed, 100% cotton masks are made from 2 layers of tightly woven quilter's cotton. We also offer an optional third, middle layer when ordering. The third layer can either be 600 thread count cotton, or non-woven sew-in polyester interfacing.
Early in the pandemic, lots of folks were making homemade masks with removable coffee filters and cut-up vacuum bags. When we considered filters, we were concerned these would become impregnated. There was also research indicating that filters could become wet, and end up capturing harmful particulates that would be held in place on your face. In the end, we decided to skip these options and offer washable, reusable masks instead.
No, our special high-quality elastics are latex-free. They are soft and pliant and feel comfortable as they rest behind your ears and on your face.
Our masks are not sold at retailers, just directly through our web store. We keep our prices low by selling direct to consumers. Also, we do not outsource any production overseas. We started the business as two women sewing masks in midtown Toronto.
Wash in between uses. Hand wash or machine wash. Hang dry or tumble dry low. It's fine to wash them along with your other laundry To achieve that brand-new, spiffy look, give them a quick iron. Do not touch the iron to the elastic straps, or any custom decals. Store your clean masks separately so they do not get confused with worn masks.
